Fall and Christmas Papers

Lots of new papers in the store today! (at least it felt that way as I sat and priced each piece. LOL!)

One of the lines is from Generations and it is a beautiful line of paper that reminds me of fall. I actually fell totally in love with this paper as soon as I saw it. The colors and patterns give me a warm, cozy feeling...like sitting in front of a fire. Here's a little peek:

Another line that reminds me a bit of fall...but funky, fun fall...is from TaDa. It's called BFF, the collection has some great colors and paisley's that remind me of falling leaves. Here are a couple sheets from this collection:

On to the Christmas papers...Echo Park's Holly Jolly line is very bright and playful, not to mention FUN! (I like FUN!) Take a look!

Fancy Pants has a great line out, too...check these out:

There are more colors and patterns in the store, so come on down and check them out. Whether we are ready for it or not, (and I'm not) the holidays are just around the corner. Time to get ready. :o)

Enjoy these nice warm fall days we have been having!

Need some Inspiration?

Well, I'm certain you will find some here, in the new issues of Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Create: Holidays, Cricut Magazine and Cricut Holidays!

Wow! There is all kinds of fun packed into the pages of these magazines!

Scrapbook Trends has some great Fall and Halloween layouts, it features a section  on how to use lots of photos on a page, and even a few cards that look really fun and easy to make.

Cards looks like a great issue, too. Some really, really fun Halloween cards and fall cards. Quick cards...who doesn't like that? There is a technique in this one that really caught my eye...it looks almost like a rosette but is made from little paper cones...very intriguing!

Create: Holiday. Oh boy...I'm in love with this one. Stunning cards and some of the most fun and pretty holiday decorations! It covers Fall, Halloween and Christmas.  This one really is packed with amazing stuff.

Cricut magazine is concentrating on Halloween and they have some of the most fun cards and treat ideas for the kids! You could spend days trying to decide which one to make! They've got fun and funky and some really beautiful things in this issue.

Last but definitely not least is Cricut Holiday's. Girls, if you don't have your Cricut out and using it...you need to! Cards, decorations, gift bags, home decor and scrapbook pages...some for Fall, but packed with Christmas ideas.

Tons and tons of inspiration sitting on the counter here at the Playground. Stop by and pick up your very own issue that you can leaf through while sitting in your most comfy chair with a cup of something good to warm your bones on these cool nights.

Halloween papers are here!

Lots of new stuff came into the store yesterday! One of the most exciting was the Halloween papers from Echo Park and My Mind's Eye. I am going to admit something here....so be gentle, no pumpkin throwing, ok?  I've never been a big fan of Halloween....I know, I know...I have found out it is a really big holiday here. But, after getting these papers in...I'm a fan! These papers look like sooo much fun! I have layouts dancing around in my head right now,  I can't wait to get back to North Dakota to gather up all the cute Halloween photos I have of my kids to use with these papers!
Here is a peek at the Echo Park Apothecary line:

Then there is the Mischievous line from My Mind's Eye:

Also in is the Head Of The Class line from Little Yellow Bicycle:

This is just a few pieces from this line, but there are more here at the store (some of the photos don't seem to want to cooperate today). A great line and some great colors for back to school photos.

Some of the other things that came in are more of the Viva Decor Pearl Pens, in Red (great for Christmas bling and holly berries!) Cream (looks just like a pearl) Bronze (a big hit at Saturday's Make & Take) and Dark Brown.

More LaBlanche stamps are in, along with LaBlanche's Specialty Stamping Paper. This is a coated cardstock that gives a very vivid and crisp result for these very detailed and beautiful stamps.

There are a few more colors of Distress Ink Pads to choose from, also.

Stop by and check out all the fun fall goodness!

Just for YOU!

Since I was busy  having technical difficulties and you all had to wait to hear about the new stuff that came into the store last week....how about a give away? How about THREE give aways? Make that FOUR!!!

I have some fun Halloween products that go perfectly with the Glimmer Mists that came in last week. Take a look:
There is a pack of 4 x 7 embossed chip tiles with some fun Halloween images, use them for mini book covers, journaling on your scrapbook pages, string them together to decorate your home or think of something entirely different and fun! There are some great clear stamps...big ones, too, that will be great for scrapbook pages, book covers or home decor projects and they have matching Glimmer Screens that are also part of the giveaway. Also as part of this set is a package of Clear Compacts that you can add memorabilia, embellishments, glitter or whatever you want to add just a little more fun and excitement to the project you are working on. (I can see a creepy plastic spider in there to really spook up a Halloween page)
So, all of that, in one set and I am going to be giving away THREE sets here on the blog, and one at the store.

To get in on the drawing on the blog, just leave a comment on this post and I will pick 3 winners on Saturday, September 17th using random.org. There is also going to be one set displayed at the store. Stop down and put your name in the jar to enter for that drawing and I will pick one name on that same Saturday (September 17th).

I hope to see you soon!

Back Online!

Hello! I first want to apologize since it has been a while since I have posted. My computer decided to quit working over the holiday weekend and I finally got it back! Lots of new things coming in, and no computer to tell you all about it! Very frustrating, but the UP-side is that I still have my email lists, photos, etc. I'm very happy to have not lost all those photos and to not have to struggle all over again with that email list!

There's a new chipboard in town from the Dusty Attic company and it comes all the way from Australia! It is an amazing laser cut chipboard. Some of their designs are very detailed and so beautiful! You can paint it, ink it, Glimmer Mist it, emboss it, dry emboss it, glitter it, foil it, distress it, stamp it, use your markers, mica powders, or stickles on it. There really is no end to what you can do to these great pieces of chipboard to add that "something special" to your projects. These are a great way to turn a really good photo into an amazing layout or framed piece of art that showcases that photo and the memory.
Take a look at a few of the pieces in stock right now:

Here is a look at a layout I did using the small vine. I used Distress Inks (Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint) to color the chipboard. It's a very soft, subtle look with the inks, but just what I needed for this project.

and here's a close-up of the chipboard (and the duck's cool feathers...LOL)
You really need to come see this stuff, they are little works of art all on their own, just waiting for you to put your touch of creativity on them!

Also new this week are the Le Blanche stamps. These are a new and unique type of stamp from Germany. They are a silicone stamp with a thick dense foam mount that helps give you a more even impression. The images are highly detailed and oh so beautiful. Take a look at a couple that are in the store now:

There's more, so come take a look...but hurry, because their beauty is irresistible and they are going fast!

The Glimmer Mists are finally in! Lots of luscious colors and all that glimmery goodness! New lower pricing...they were $7.49 a bottle and are now $6.99. Along with the Glimmer Mist there are also some Chalkboard Sprays, Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze.

More colors of Distress Stains are in, too, so come check it all out.

I guess that's enough for now, don't want to overload you all. :o)  But stay tuned....I've got some fun announcements coming this week!!

Take a look at what's new

There are some new things filling the shelves at the Playground.

A couple of great lines from Bo Bunny. The first one is Et Cetera with some great vintage colors.

These would be great for vintage or heritage albums. Some of the papers have a watercolor look to them that makes them look so soft and yummy. Great embellishments, too...take a look:

How fun do those petals look! I love them just the way they are, and they will look great with the Et Cetera papers...but I'm thinking Distress Stains and Glimmer Mist would really spice them up and make them match whatever you are working on. The brads are so rich and beautiful, they remind me of fall and I think they would be a great addition to any fall page or card you are working on. The rub-ons looking entirely too fun! (the coffee stain is my favorite)

Ooooh! The long awaited Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Stain is in!  It isn't an opaque white, you can see through it...it doesn't cover up that great patterned paper you want to show off. I'm totally loving it and think it's going to be a great hit with ghostly Halloween creations and soft wintery and holiday pages and cards.

Matching sets from Spellbinders dies and Just Rite Stamps. The stamps fit right into the dies from this set. What a quick way to decide what you are going to put in to that die cut shape!

The Viva Decor Pearl Pens are in, too. They make quick work of giving your project that special something. You can add bling anywhere you want to. Make your own pearl laden flourishes! These pens are great because the paint inside of them is self-leveling so you have a nice rounded embellishment, and you can make them as small or as large as you need them...no more searching for just the right size!

Stop down to take a look or just say "HI!". The classroom is open to anyone that wants to just come play for a while!
See you soon!
